RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Police say a man has been arrested in connection with the shooting on Cheatwood Avenue that left a transgender woman dead.
Officers were called to the 800 block of Cheatwood Avenue around 5:42 a.m. on Nov. 23 for the report of a vehicle colliding into a detached garage in an alley.

RICHMOND, Va. A man has been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of a transgender woman on Richmond s Northside last month.
Ryejon Lee was arrested Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force on outstanding warrants for robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony in connection to the murder of ChaeâMeshia Simms on November 23.

Police say additional charges are pending against Lee.
Emergency crews responded to a call for a car that crashed in an alleyway off Cheatwood Avenue in the Washington Park neighborhood just before 6 a.m., according to detectives.
